Mode Settings Means

Mode setting is the term from computer world. You may have come across the term Resolution, when you use to set resolution of your monitor, the term Mode Setting comes into picture. It means setting the monitor screen resolution and colour depth. Their are two ways of adjusting monitor resolution, by kernel called KMS and another by program in user space called UMS.
